Warts / Verrucae - (inter changeable terms) |

These are a viral infection of the foot. The warts can be single or tightly packed together. No one-off treatment can guarantee a cure and this includes podiatry treatment. The veruccae usually have a ‘cauliflower rough’ surface, which causes pain with direct pressure. The tiny lines (striae) on the skin are broken as they deviate around the verucca. Sometimes the overlying skin becomes thick and the surrounding area can become, 'inflamed'. Pain, appearance of the verucca and its ability to spread to other people are the main reasons for treatment. Many treatment options are available at this clinic which include; acid treatment, surgical removal and cryotherapy – freezing with a verucca gun. |
