Simon has recently established a successful monthly clinic on Waiheke Island in a dental practice. Dental facilities complement the needs of podiatry services so this will be a very effective match. The treatment room has a view toward Great Barrier Island.
Television Appearance
2003
Simon was privileged to represent and promote the podiatry profession on ‘Good Morning’ with their host Mary Lambie. It is hoped this interview increased the profile of podiatry in New Zealand.

President of the New Zealand Society of Podiatrists
2000 – 2004
Simon recently retired from serving the NZ Society of Podiatrists as their President. Simon served a term of four years which he found to be challenging and rewarding. A key strategic partner of the NZ Society is Asics. Simon is pictured here with their CEO renewing the strategic agreement with the NZ Society.
Two Publications in Trade journals
August 2002
Simon was asked to submit an article titled ‘Tough as old boots’ which focussed the adverse consequences of not wearing safety boots. *
July 2003
Simon was asked to submit an article advising readers of the best methods to keep their feet in the best condition. Other colleagues also contributed. An easy to read and informative article can be viewed in New Zealand Fitness PP 31-33. June/July 2003 No.61 www.fitnessmag.co.nz.
Speight’s Podiatry goes ‘International’
August 2002 and November 2003
Simon visited the Chatham Islands group, twice for one week on each trip. Diabetes is a complex syndrome which causes many foot problems. Simon’s visit to treat the feet was targeted at this client group.
