A typical case history detailed by a runner follows:
A client who had started running two years earlier while on a long run developed low back pain of an aching nature. It was progressive and required total abstention from running during the previous six months. The patient also developed pain at the back of his thigh and in the groin.
Pain in the above case was centred around the Sacroiliac Joint - this is where the dimple in the lower back arises either side of the spine.
Pain can sometimes refer into the buttock and can extend down the back of the thigh.
Podiatry treatment often has good results with insoles (sometimes called an orthotic) and we will refer you to very capable physio & sports massage therapists. Importance must be placed on correct footwear.
