Arch and heel pain

Microtears occur in the ligament in the underside of the foot. The tears with subsequent inflammation can result in significant pain in the arch, sole and heel. You may be experiencing pain when you get up in the morning or after you have been off your feet – this is typical. There is also a muscle which lies on the upper area of the inner arch which can be strained.

As in all instances when this pain occurs the importance of your running shoes being correct to ‘fit for your feet’ is vital. At Speight’s you will be given a definitive diagnosis with treatment possibly resulting in the dispensing of orthotics.
